Carla brings over 35 years of experience in accounting and taxation, with a strong emphasis on family office services. Before joining C + M in 2023, she spent more than 15 years at Howson & Simon LLP, a boutique financial and tax firm in Walnut Creek. There, she worked closely with high-net-worth individuals and their businesses, gaining deep expertise in individual, trust, and private foundation taxation. Her hands-on, client-focused approach allowed her to develop a thorough understanding of each client’s financial objectives and long-term planning needs.

Carla began her career at PwC before transitioning into the private sector in various controllership roles. This experience gave her valuable insight into business operations from the client’s perspective, making her eventual return to public accounting both strategic and impactful.

Outside of work, Carla enjoys spending time in her garden, digging and pruning whenever she can. She is also deeply involved in philanthropic efforts, often teaming up with her daughter to strategize fundraising initiatives for a nursery school and rescue center they support in Kibera, Kenya.
